Indigo is an antiquarian bookseller in pursuit of The Book of Punishment - a rare and obscure eighteenth-century sadomasochistic text. Forced to chase the book throughout Europe, Indigo reckons without the troubles caused by her own attraction to business rival Dervil Badon, who's also an infamous dungeon-master on the SM scene. Meanwhile The Book of Punishment continues to elude both Dervil and the fiery, cp-loving Indigo, and their relationship becomes humiliatingly painful.
